↖ Nightmare Incursion Info
The most important update in Phase 3 of season of discovery Classic World of Warcraft is Nightmare Incursions. This PvE system serves both leveling and endgame purposes by offering dynamic challenges across Azeroth.
Any one can access these invasions at any of four portals to the Emerald Dream located at Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor continents. Starting from level 25 this new system will be available for gamers who want a faster game progression.
↖ Locations and Levels
The nightmare incursion have been planted near various zones’ emerald dream portals strategically. Here’s where you can find them along with their respective level ranges:
Duskwood (Level 25-40) | In middle part of zone close by Emerald Dream portal. |
Ashenvale (Level 40-50) | It is situated at top right corner on map just beside portal. |
Feralas (Level 50+) | Located at Emerald portal for end-game content as well as reputation gains. |
The Hinterlands (Level 50+) | Another endgame opportunity located near Emerald portal on right side of map. |
When players approach these portals they will see their surroundings change denoting they have entered Emerald Nightmare.. The environment will become darker with green hue and have elite NPC's and dragons around. The game grants you a buff that will confirm your presence in the nightmare.
↖ Gameplay and Mechanics
The first thing to do in Nightmare Incursions is an optional starter quest called "Recover Incursion Field Report" which requires you to kill non-elite demons at the portals. This quest is repeatable and can be done solo too, giving 10 reputation points for every completion. An item called mission brief envelope containing a random elite quest and an item to share that quest with others is acquired by repeating this quest multiple times.
- Type of Quest: Repeatable and Soloed, offers ten reputation points.
-
Main Goal: Acquire Mission Brief envelope containing two items;
- An item that starts a random elite quest.
- An item to share the quest with others.
Elite Quests:
- Various kinds: there are 18 distinct elite quests per area within Emerald Nightmare zone.
- Genres: They range from kills, resource gathering, boss fights, escort missions to profession tasks.
- Sharing Mechanism: This sharing item has four charges in 1-hour duration thus preventing the abuse of quest sharing mechanism.
Group Play:
- Suggested Group Size: Three to Five Players.
- Tactics: Share and complete elite quests as a group, usually three out of five per loop.
- Rewards: XP, Reps., gold and another Mission Brief envelope when you finish the quests.
- Repeat Process: Open new envelopes, share quests and re-enter incursion for more rewards.
Tagging System:
- Note on Mob Tags: The mob tagging system may be competitive; however it is consistent with how classic WoW mechanics work.
- Boss Encounters: Shared tagged random bosses give extra reputations when defeated.
↖ Rewards
The rewards you get for participating in Nightmare Incursions depend on your reputation with the Emerald Wardens. They come in different forms as one reaches each stage from friendly to exalted;
Friendly (Emerald Wardens) |
|
Honored | Class Sets: At Level Fifty these armor sets have Classic WoW looks with set bonuses; |
Revered | Miscellaneous Rewards: Random druid weapon and chest pieces; |
Exalted | High Value Items: Epic trinkets and one ring. |
Optimal strategy for Nightmare Incursions would require a team of 3 to 5, sharing missions from mission briefs, and doing about 3-5 loops each time. Upon completing these tasks, players are awarded experience points (XP), reputation points (rep), SoD gold as well as another mission brief envelope that keeps them going.
- Friendly: Runes of Clans at class level and trinkets for 20/30 levels that give health or damage buffs when killing a mob.
- Honoured: Class sets comprising all kinds of armor along with their set bonuses like classic WoW style available since lvl50
- Revered: There are also some druid weapons alongside chest pieces.
- Exalted: Good epic trinkets plus ring
These rewards cater to both leveling players and endgame content enthusiasts.
↖ Duskwood Invasion
Starting from level 25, players can do the Duskwood Invasion. Every quest yields a range of 4000-6000 XP. The event however requires completion of between 8 and 10 quests every 30 to 40 minutes giving an impressive experience yield of about eighty thousand to one hundred thousand for a full group.
Duskwood Invasion Start Up
- Find the NPC in Duskwood to begin the first quest.
- Kill demons requested in the region.
- Go through a portal and collect a report by speaking to an adjacent NPC.
- Then go back to the person who gave you your introductory mission so that you can get another task regarding the invasion.
Mechanism of Quest Sharing:
The sharing device is a particular item although quite inconveniently heavy in weight.
Types and Selections of Quests:
- A total number of eighteen quests exist including mob killing, profession tasks, boss fights, item retrieval, intelligence gathering and rescues.
- To maximize on efficiency, it is better to concentrate on few rather than trying out all available tasks.
Efficient Routing for Quests:
This event comprises three major locations: Ogres' area; Dragonkin area, Worgen area.
Each zone should have three or four quests as follows:
Ogre Area Quests |
|
Dragonkin Area Quests |
|
Worgen Area Quests |
|
Experience & Progression Earning |

↖ Ashenvale Incursion
Ashenvale incursion is a PvE event that allows the character to level up through questing in a specific area called Ashen Vil. To initiate the event, players will interact with a quest giver. The goal is to destroy demons and finish between 8 and 12 tasks whose XP reward varies from 4000 to 8000 for every mission.
How to start:
- Go back to the NPC to get further information about your first task.
- Eliminate all necessary demons.
- Afterward, go back to the quest giver for more instructions.
Team Formation:
- Create or join a group so as quests can be shared among members thereby improving efficiency.
- Have a coordinated team of individuals who are easy going in order move easily without delays in this process.
Experience Gained:
- Expect around 32,000-96,000 experience per run.
- A well-practiced route takes approximately fifteen minutes to complete–upwards of an hour if you're inexperienced and/or trying different strategies along the way.
- Earn rates upwards of or even exceeding four times that at about 128k-384k an hour on average depending on your speed or how good you are at doing them fast enough under time constraints which are quite tight given what was said earlier about how much can be accomplished within such short periods!
Breakdown of quests:
Dragon Kin Area (Red) | Begin here and focuse on complete related quests only before proceeding anywhere else. |
Saturys Area (Purple) | This area comes after Dragonkin and features Satyr tasks. |
Lumber Mill Area (Green) | Quests relate largely with lumber operations it has got everything you need including wood working tools! |
Optional Quests(Orange) | These ones are not prioritized and may despawn altogether thus may be skipped when they spawn again. |
Route Strategy:
- Share escort quests immediately to gain credit for any party member's turn-ins.
- In the Dragon Kin area, avoid engaging dragons directly. Instead, tag the boss if other players are present to gain credit upon its defeat. Collect the dragon egg and report as you progress.
- At the Satyr Camp, gather intelligence and collect purple fire item. Quickly kill low-health bosses that you encounter.
- In Lumber Mill, talk with NPC's there to get their intel reports or engage with nearby bosses for extra credit.
- Then grab engine heart as well as accompany NPCs that require escorting out of here.
Finishing up:
Aim at completing 9-10 quests each run. Players can still participate until they hit level 47-50 but it is not worth it since the amount of experience gained decreases significantly when you are above level 49 due how much more time it will take per quest!
In WoW Classic, Nightmare Incursions add a new twist even though they appear complicated at first. There will be greater clarity as you get conversant with the quests together with optimal routes alongside updated navigational aids in the form of add-ons. The introduction of new aspects such as Dream Invaders marks a great advancement for WoW Classic that shows what is yet to come after level 60.
