Well met warriors! As we welcome the Season of Discovery, it is time to polish your axes and firm up your strategies. Right now casters seem unbeatable and so it may seem impossible for any warrior to make an impression – but fret not! That is what this guide will do; equip you with knowledge on how to unleash the full power contained in a warrior pitted against other warriors.

↖ Warrior Dps Updates
Like changes brought by time, there are several things that have been injected into our combat skills which shall take our damage dealing prowess higher than before. Though most of our gameplay mechanics remain as brutal as ever, there are major improvements:
- Leveling Up: You will find yourself having an enhanced journey through levels thanks to some leveling boosts that hit hard.
- Cooldown Creativity: Flagellation and Consumed By Rage new runes provide more opportunities for high damage outputs without relying on major cooldowns—perfect for those fights with many mobs.
- 2H Focused Feats: Runestones like Frenzied Assault, Quick Strike etc., came in at the right moment in order to revive 2H builds which had long been overshadowed by their dual-wielding counterparts but are now poised at their zenith.
However, all these will be over once we get into battle because we have Warbringer – no one can stop us from breaking free or tying off gaps like champions.
↖ Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Durability: Mail gear and high HP make us walking fortresses.
- Damage Dealers: Our cleave damage is the stuff of legends.
- Utility Heroes: We're the spine of any group with spells such as Battle Shout and Sunder Armor.
- Damage Boosters: Cooldowns like Flagellation keep our blades thirsty for more.
- Long Fight Loyalists: In slugfests, few stand out better than us, thanks to Deep Wounds.
Cons:
- Gear Reliance: We're lions without teeth, unless we have top-tier weapons.
- Mobility Woes: We're not exactly fleet-footed.
- Aggro Attractors: Our damage can be too much of a good thing, drawing unwanted attention from foes.
↖ Best Specialization
- Fury: While it may seem like arms is taking the lead this season with talents like Flurry and Death Wish that give fury some flair. However, Fury is the spec you should go for if you want to dual-wield with the right gear and zealotry.
- Arms: PVE shines brightest for Arms specialization when armed with appropriate skills and 2H weapon. This delicate balance could work wonders whether in pvp arenas or pve areas.
↖ Gearing Up for Battle
This is your gear every time you step onto the battlefield. Aim at attaining best-in-slot items that will enhance your damage output.
Key Gear Pieces
- Weapon: Go for Warwind Axe, or alternatively, Alliance warriors may select Bonebiter from Scarlet Monastery.
- Helm and Necklace: Hooded Cowl of the Channelers, on the other hand, can also be got from Blackfathom Deeps (BFD).
- Shoulders and Bracers: Complete quests in Feralas or reach War Song Exalted status.
- Chest: Quest rewards or blacksmithing creations are viable options.
↖ Professions
The types of gear that you need to wear will depend on the professions that you have chosen. The two most important professions that come to mind for me as a warrior are blacksmithing and engineering because they both create necessary items like helms and belts respectively.
Blacksmithing |
A great complement for your Engineering pursuits with exclusive crafted items such as Tempered Interference-Negating Helmet. |
Engineering |
This profession is almost an automatic choice for any serious Warrior whether PvE or PvP since it has gadgets galore which give you an edge over others. |
Profession Highlights:
- Craft powerful helms and belts with Blacksmithing and Engineering.
- Prioritize leather tier items over plate for superior DPS stats.
↖ Runes
Warrior Runes customizes your gear more. The chest rune Flagellation stands out as the best choice due to its substantial damage increase. While consuming by rage is good but when it comes t legging frenzy takes charge instead of consumed by rage. Currently Endless Rage is better than Quick Strike due to its consistent performance.
↖ Consumables
Consumables could be the difference between a wipe and success in a raid setting.
Essential Consumables:
- Elixir of Agility (+15 Agility)
- Scroll of Strength III
- Dragonbreath Chili (chance to proc fire damage)
- Rage Potions (for emergency rage needs)
- Oil of Immolation (use carefully to avoid resetting swing timers)
↖ Raid Buffs
A warrior is only as strong as their support. Key raid buffs like Windfury Totem, Leader of the Pack, and Homunculus are non-negotiable for optimal damage output.
Critical Buffs:
- Windfury Totem or Wild Strikes
- Homunculus
- Leader of the Pack
- Armor debuffs such as Faerie Fire and Curse of Recklessness
↖ Stat Priority
- 1. Critical Strike Chance
- 2. Hit Chance
- 3. Strength
- 4. Agility
- 5. Attack Power
- 6. Stamina
With a decent hit cap plus strength & critical strike chance stacked on top you'll make it easier for yourself since it becomes a rage fueled onslaught allowing you hit harder with lesser amount of rage; moreover, don't forget that agility can benefit warriors more than they would ever imagine.
↖ Gear Recommendations
The right weapon can make or break a Warrior. Plan your progression path meticulously:
- Thermaplugg's Rocket Cleaver: The crown jewel of Phase 2 weapons.
- Bonebiter or Whirlwind Axe: Your trusty companions from leveling to Gnomeregan.
- Highlander's Plate Greaves / Defiler's Plate Greaves: Just remember that mobility is key and these boots are made for charging.
↖ Boss Fight Breakdowns
Each boss in Season of Discovery Phase 2 presents unique challenges. Here's a quick rundown:
- Grubbis: Pool some rage before boss spawns, spawn camp for maximum uptime and also be careful not to waste your Rage Potions.
- Viscous Fallout: Line up Sweeping Strikes along with Flagellation for add spawns so that you can get maximum cleave damage at once.
- Crowd Pummeler: Be cautious with rage consumption against this high armor foe, excessive use of Heroic Strike may prove damaging.
- Electrocutioner: Lower armor allows for more liberal use of Heroic Strike and Hamstring. Maintain a steady flow of Overpower procs.
- Mechanical Menagerie: Warriors shine in cleave situations. Use Sweeping Strikes with Flagellation and manage your cooldowns properly.
- Mekgineer Thermaplugg: It is all about maximizing the rage while putting in as much abilities as possible. Here, Overpower procs are like opening a gift box; you must not let go of them.
In summary, although Warriors might face competition from spellcasters in Phase 2, with the correct spec, gear, consumables, buffs and mastering rotations this will allow you to rank number one in DPS charts. Stay alert, stay focused and let your battle cry reverberate in those halls of victory!
